Hi, I’m Jamie.
Welcome to West by Nature — where I discuss topics in life and style, travel, interiors and decor, and share latest shopping finds. Currently calling San Diego home, I’m a California girl who loves everything inspired by the beautiful west coast. Oh, and a good book and skincare routine.
Maui Travel Guide
My Maui guide is here! Maui is one of my favorite places in the world to visit. There’s just so much to do, eat, explore, and the weather is nearly perfect throughout the year. It really has everything and will continue to be a place Alex and I return to over the years. These are my top experiences worthy of Maui itineraries!
Fall Foliage at Wylder Hope Valley
A few weeks back Alex and I stayed at Wylder Hope Valley and let me tell you, this place was magical in every possible way! The property is teeming with history and built-in feel good vibes. It almost feels like an adult summer camp because you have literally everything you need in one place. For years I’ve been saying how fall is such an underrated time to visit the Lake Tahoe area. We visited in early autumn just as the leaves were beginning to change, and it was some of the most gorgeous fall foliage I’ve ever witnessed in California.
On the Shores of Lake Minnetonka, MN
In July Alex and I traveled to Minnesota for the wedding of our dear friends, and when we checked into our hotel we found ourselves on the beautiful shores of Lake Minnetonka in the town of Wayzata, just outside Minneapolis. We were livin’ the summer life on the lake for a few days. Sharing a few highlights and photos from a few days spent lakeside and on the water!
A Summer Stay in Chicago
Alex and I visited Chicago for the first time a few weeks back and I instantly fell in love with the city. This was our first real vacation in over a year, just the two of us, so we made it count! We crossed off several sights and provisions in a 48 hour jaunt, all heightened with a stay at The Hoxton Chicago in the vibey West Loop district. Reliving this trip through written word and photos gives me all the feels — it was one for the books!
Kauai Travel Guide, Part II
Here’s part two of my Kauai travel guide where you’ll find my favorite activities and places to eat.
Kauai Travel Guide, Part I
Kauai is hands down one of the most beautiful places on Earth. It’s very small, about 25 miles wide and 33 miles long and can be driven in under three hours. The beauty of Kauai is you can have as much of a relaxing or active trip as you like! It’s an incredibly therapeutic and healing place. I love sharing my recommendations for how to explore this magical island and since I’ve provided tips to friends and families on multiple occasions, I decided to put them on the blog! Without further ado…
Detailing My Kauai Wedding Vendors
I’ll start by saying that everyone works with a different budget for wedding vendors and everyone has different preferences on which vendors to include in a wedding day. This post details my personal experience based on what I chose was important to include in my wedding day.
